The Skoda Fabia Key Features
In our tests, the 1.2 TSI proved flexible and surprisingly fun when it came to flinging itself around on twisty roads. It's also very cost-effective.
Skoda is today dominating its SUV range which is why you might think that the Fabia has no place in the lineup. However, the hatchback still has a lot to offer.

Keyless entry and Start
Keyless entry and start are features that make it much easier to enter your car. A sensor in the key fob transmits a signal to the vehicle's antenna when you are within 1.5 metres. This signals the presence the key and, if everything's in order, the door opens or the engine begins to rev.
The Fabia was the first The Koda model is the first to have this feature that can be activated by pressing the button on the keyfob, or by placing your fingers on the handle. The door will open and the lights inside the car are switched on if they were previously activated. You can also turn on the puddle light in your car.
This feature is very useful especially when you park in the dark. But, there are a few things to keep in mind when using this function. If you don't wear gloves you will not be able to unlock the car by using the handle. Also the doors are locked. For this purpose, the Koda Fabia is not equipped with dimples.
Another feature is the intelligent locking. This is a security feature that will prevent your car from being stolen or vandalized, and it works by detecting when the key is in the ignition and near to the engine. The key will then send an alert to shut the doors and unlock the ignition.
In addition to the standard 1.4 TSI petrol engines, which are used in most models, the Fabia can also be bought with a more powerful 1.0 TSI engine. This version of Fabia comes with front-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive, as well as various trim levels. It is also available as a hatchback and an estate model, and is available with manual or automatic transmissions.
In the UK, Fabia is offered with a diesel variant. It is an 1.9-litre pumpe-duse turbocharged direct-injection diesel engine that can produce up to 96 horsepower (130 PS). The Fabia RS (known as the vRS in the UK) was the first all-diesel hot hatchback, and was named the Scottish Car of the Year in 2003. It also has a lower vehicle tax band which makes it much more affordable to operate.
Two USB ports
Skoda includes two USB ports at the rear of the front seats. This is a huge benefit for families who need to charge multiple devices on the road. It's easy for passengers to charge their phones and tablets before entering the vehicle.
The Fabia's roomy interior is awe-inspiring, considering its small exterior dimensions. It's also well-designed and has lots of colour and a large infotainment screen. In terms of comfort, the front seats are a great fit and offer plenty of adjustments. The rear space may be slightly smaller, but is still enough to accommodate three adults. There's also an ISOFIX point for baby seats in the back.
All Fabia models come with a wide range of safety features, including automatic emergency brakes, lane-keeping aid as well as traffic sign recognition and driver drowsiness detector. It also earned five stars in Euro NCAP's crash tests, which is an impressive result given the car's price. The Fabia is among the safest cars in its class.
It's also a great option when you're looking for a car that is easy to drive in town or in the city. Its smaller footprint means it's easier to maneuver in tight parking spaces and can fit into narrow streets. With its wide doors, short overhang and wide openings, it's easy to park in big cities.
In the cabin, Skoda has packed in several of its own 'Simply Clever features. These are small touches that might not alter your life, but can make the car more enjoyable. This includes a handy umbrella that is hidden inside the door to the driver's side and an ice scraper that is hidden in the fuel cover and the bootcover that flips up to protect the paintwork. The front seats come with pockets for maps as well as a pen holder. There's also dual-zone climate control as well as cruise control and DAB radio as standard across the range.
Control of the cruise with adaptive features
Cruise control has long been a driver's best friend, making long road trips and commutes more relaxing and less stressful. While traditional cruise controls only keep an arbitrary speed and limit the speed to a certain level, adaptive cruise controls go one step further and regulate the acceleration and braking. This allows for safer driving in even the most crowded traffic conditions.
A standard feature in most new Skodas adaptive cruise control is also available with a number of useful additional features that make your journey more enjoyable. The system utilizes sensors to monitor the vehicles that are in front of you. It will automatically slow down and stop if needed and adjust speeds based on traffic and road conditions. The car will also keep your speed consistent, and can even change lanes when prompted by the sensors' readings.
If you activate the feature, an white Adaptive Cruise Control symbol will be displayed on your cluster display (if equipped) or Head-Up Display to notify you that it is in use. You can switch between various Adaptive Cruise Control modes by pressing the cruise control mode button on your steering wheel. You can also choose your desired gap setting, with options including Far, Medium, and Near. This option allows the vehicle to alter its speed to the speed of the vehicle in the front of it. It will display the current gap setting in your head-up Display (if equipped).
Certain systems also utilize GPS mapping to anticipate curves and slow down the vehicle in order to ensure that you don't exceed the speed limit. They will then adjust the system once you have passed the bend. Other systems that utilize traffic-sign recognition are able to alter your Adaptive Cruise Control speed to be in line with the posted speed limit.
To get the most from your cruise control, you must remain actively involved as an operator. You'll still have to push the brake, or another button to cancel it. Your car won't be able change lanes by itself, so you will have to be alert and watch for other drivers.
Headlights that are adaptive
Adaptive headlights alter the lighting modes according to driving conditions using the latest LED matrix technologies. This ensures that you have a clear view of the road at all times. The system automatically changes from country to city and motorway settings based on GPS data provided by your navigation system. This makes driving in areas that are not familiar to you, especially at night, much easier. The intelligent system can also detect cloudy or rainy weather and activate the rain sensor, which controls the speed of the windshield wipers. It also activates the active cornering lights for better visibility on roads with curves.
If your vehicle has adaptive headlights the control panel on the steering wheel will display a message that instructs you to switch your high beams to a low beam to avoid blinding traffic coming from behind. The system will alert you if pedestrians are approaching. This feature helps to alleviate driver fatigue and improve safety on busy, crowded roads.
The ability of adaptive headlights to direct towards the direction of vehicle's direction of travel is a further great feature. This feature, also referred to as curve-adaptive lights, helps make driving on curving roads safer by illuminating objects that are otherwise obscured from drivers. According to Highway Loss Data Institute, this feature can cut down on the amount of liability claims for property damage by up to 5,8 percent.
A great feature of adaptive headlights is that they can be used to illuminate the space around a vehicle when the car is stationed. This feature is especially useful in parking areas that are crowded, since it makes maneuvering and reverse the car more simple. This feature also helps reduce accidents caused by vehicles exiting or entering the vehicle.
The Keylab comes with a broad variety of safety features as standard that include six airbags for the driver and six Isofix anchors for child seats. It is equipped with a variety of driver assistance features like Front Assist which can alert you to an impending collision, or even stop your vehicle. The fabia key comes with a number of advanced technologies, including Rear Traffic Alert and Auto Light Assist.
